What if we think of aging as an art?

…an effort called out of the soul that takes skill, guts and devotion to manifest…

with the power to create laughter, seriously tweak stereotypes, and inspire.

The Art Of Aging project was created from a desire for a real community of women powered by heart and wisdom, not marketing agendas.

It is a story about women encouraging one another to not get stuck in an aging niche, to move on and out with humor and spirit in support of the journey of self discovery, that does not end, but gets better as we age.

In the spring of 2010 I startedThe Art Of Aging Facebook Page. The response was fantastic, passionate.

Out of this response came The Beauties. Beauties.  Not Crones.

The honorable meanings attached to the title of  ’CRONE’ do not fall well on the ear of an English speaking woman who is in the throes of asking herself:

What about this aging thing?

What does it mean to mature as a woman in our culture?
